About Mike
In no particular order, I am a father of 5, Antoinette’s husband, Scoutmaster of Troop 75, family breadwinner, Mayor of North Las Vegas (1997-2009), LVCVA Board member… yada, yada, yada.
I was born and raised in the Phoenix area. I never thought I would leave there, and I took great pride in being a native. I studied Arizona history and traveled most of the state hunting, camping, ghost towning, etc. I went to college at ASU, got married and had my first two kids there. In the end of 1992, I got a good job offer to transfer to Las Vegas with Bank of America. Given the state of the AZ economy, it didn’t have to be a great job offer, but it was.
Time flew by and the Las Vegas experience was good for our family. We grew by three more kids and got very involved in our Home Owners Association and the community. By 1996 I found myself examining the City leadership and looking for who I could support that would make the most of a city with a lot of potential. The more I looked, the more I realized the person I was looking for was myself. I ran for Mayor and was elected in 1997, and re-elected to two terms after.
Hi Mike
See you are running for Governor. Should be interesting. Maybe you can make things better — maybe any change would be an improvement.
Congratulations! When is the election?
